once upon a time, i wrote some other things
two green eyes racing towards me in the darkness.
"hi, it's me."
"look at that. it looks like an alligator."
the rain fell hard that night.
this is mostly about me, but it's also about this other girl
pitter patter pitter patter
"going somewhere?"
cold hand. probably from leaning against the glass.
from my vantage, there is the sky.
i painted the sky green this morning.
watched as the angels slowly disappeared
"now what did you do that for?"
"Some stories have no endings."
he waits for the next train to arrive.
she checked her watch. she was late, again.
"we get this all the time in here."
well. that was unexpected.
"why do you keep coming here?"
"excuse me. don't i know you?"
"do you remember that night, when we were kids?"
today she woke up as a butterfly
"i like your dress."
hand raised to throbbing temples.
echoing down the empty night street
"you are being a voyeur"
i watched her walk away.
i would rather be anywhere but here.
the old man turns and glowers.
"what are you looking at?"
fell asleep in the air around you
"how many more tonight?"
i kicked a dog once.
and for now, that's just enough.
I like to hear them scream.
so that one day, finally
drip drip drip
i strolled off the subway today
"i can't handle this any more," she said.
you can't have me.
i missed you too.
instead of snow.
she drums her fingers nervously on the table
phantoms don't make noise.
the old man huddles in the doorway
first kiss... almost.
held there by her touch.
i walk by the studio whenever i can.
She doesn't resist.
i said no more than two words to her.
when the lights are off
bzzzzz... ZAP
"So what are we supposed to do?"
